I have been finding it very hard to find the time to post and keep my blog up to date. So I am going to trial the Stampin' Up! website service for a while. If you want to see my latest projects and ideas or the latest specials etc please go to http://melanie.stampinup.net/. You can still use the form at the bottom of this page to sign up to my Newsletter :-)
Cheers and happy stamping!

New workshop bookings
I said in my post earlier today that I would be changing some things about my workshops from now on. The biggest change is that from this weekend when you book a workshop you will get to pick the Make and Take for your workshop. I will have a collection of samples with me and you will be able to pick one out of the collection. This means you will know exactly what we will be doing at your workshop, one of my big point of nerves before a workshop is that my hostess and/or her guests won't like the Make and Take that I have put together, and so will I. This will give you as the hostess the opportunity to select something you like and possibly learn a technique that you want to. In most cases you will be able to take the sample home with you as part of your hostess pack. You can then show it to your guests so they will also know exactly what we will be doing at your workshop. It will also help you generate more excitement in your guests about your workshop which will in turn help your attendance and your sales, earning you better hostess benefits.
In most cases I will hand out an instruction sheet at the workshop for your guests to follow. Rather than me standing there and telling everyone what to do, everyone will be free to work at their own pace and ask questions or for help as required. I will demonstrate important techniques or difficult parts of the Make and Take but on a whole once the initial demo is done I will move around the guests providing assistance where I need to. I will also be handing out shopping lists for the make and takes that we have made. This will give you and your guests the chance to purchase everything you need to go away and make many more of the item we have just learned how to make. This is all part of my approach to workshops which is to look at them more as an enjoyable afternoon and a chance for everyone to learn something new than as a massive sales pitch. The photos included in this post give you a bit of a sneak peak at the sort of Make and Takes that are available. If you would like to see them and book a workshop to make your own please feel free to email me.
Neglected
Not me, my blog. Very neglected. I can't believe it has been months since I posted, bad mel! Don't think that I haven't been busy, that is why I haven't posted I have been flat out. It has been a very busy time both personally and as a demo. My son started school which was a very big thing being our eldest so we have been busy trying to get into all the routines that you need to with school. Stampin' Up! have also been very busy. The new Autumn Winter mini catalogue is coming out next month and I have my copy of it already. I am very very excited and I can't wait to start sharing all of the new and exciting products with you all. I am hoping that my preorder will be there waiting for me when I get home. If it isn't it is going to be a very looooong day tomorrow as I wait to finish work and see if it is there. I don't want to give too much away but I will say there are some changes that have CLEAR advantages and some very BIG new additions.
I am also making some changes this year to my classes and my workshops. I hope that the changes I am making will help you my customers take more advantage of what I have to offer in both formats.
Anyway I had best go and get some more work done. I will be doing my best to post more regularly. I may even pull out the camera and start posting some pictures, which is what you really want to see.

Sunday's Stamp-a-stack
As I recently purchased an additional table to use for my classes and Stamp-a-stacks I can now fit a lot more people in. So as a result I have plenty of room left in this Sunday's coming SAS. If you are interested please come along. We will be making 9 cards, three each of three designs. And as a bonus each participant will get a surprise to take home with them to put together in their own time. We will be using the Punch Pals stamp set ($56.95; IBC page 27) and the Ski Slope Designer Series Paper from the Spring mini. Even though this paper is no longer available if you wanted to make more of these cards from home the Holiday Treasures DSP ($16.95; IBC page 134) would also be highly suitable. The SAS is only $25 and you will be taking home 9 home made cards plus a bonus kit that will make a great gift for someone. Email me if you are interested.
Cheers
Melanie
